— A city man is facing an assault charge for allegedly injuring another man at a market.

Angel Alexis Cartagena, 23, of 11 Fox St., was charged with third-degree assault and second-degree reckless endangerment, according to a release from the Gloversville Police Department.

The charges follow an investigation into the discovery of the victim found unconscious March 9 in the parking lot of the Country Farms store at 198 S. Main St., according to the release.

Police said the store’s video surveillance and witness statements revealed Cartagena punched the man, who then fell to the ground and struck his head on the pavement.

The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital with a head injury and has since been released, according to police.

Cartagena was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Gloversville City Court.
