Baseball: Mueller's three-hitter gets Scotties to 6-6

Jon Mueller threw a three-hitter and also had a good day at the plate, leading Ballston Spa past Shaker, 10-1, Tuesday in a Suburban Council baseball game.

Mueller had two hits and scored a pair of runs, and Nick Van Liew had a double among three hits as the Scotties squared their league record at 6-6 and handed the Bison their third league loss.

Tyler Hoffman homered for 9-3 Shaker.

Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake used a six-run second inning to get past Saratoga Springs, 8-5.

Danny Maynard and Robbie Knightes both singled and drove in two runs for the 7-5, 10-5 Spartans. Cody Mooney added a double and single, and Ryan McDonnell hit a pair of singles, scored two runs and knocked in one.

Jordan Prehoda drove in a pair of runs for the 3-9, 6-10 Blue Streaks.

A.J. Maney, Ryan Henchey and Ryan Puentes all had two singles, with Maney knocking in two runs, as Columbia beat Guilderland, 7-0.

Travis Siwards and Kevin Smith combined on a two-hitter for the 11-1, 13-2 Blue Devils.

Joe Malone and Corey Moore both singled for the 5-7, 6-10 Dutchmen.

Jon Peatfield had two doubles and a single, and Mike Graves doubled and singled as Bethlehem bested Averill Park, 14-4, to go to 8-4 in the SC and 12-4 overall.

Ben Reinisch had two hits for 2-9 Averill Park.

Kyle Ruth, Jeff Bink and Kyrek Osterhaut all had two hits as 6-6 Colonie beat Mohonasen, 11-2.

Randy Tutunjian hit a single and a two-run triple, and Hoosick Falls scored six runs in the sixth inning to grab a 6-4 win over Cambridge in the Wasaren League.

Clayton Harrington drove in two runs for Cambridge.

Cory Winch picked up the pitching victory and had two hits and an RBI as Greenwich edged Stillwater, 4-2, to go to 9-2 in the Wasaren. Schuyler Radliff had two singles for the Indians.

John Rooney struck out 10 over six innings, and Jared Morello finished the four-hitter as Wasaren leader Hoosic Valley downed Schuylerville, 6-0.

Evan Holbritter drove in three runs, John Lucas hit a two-run double and Mac Anderson went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the 10-1, 16-1 winners,

Greg Kelley belted a home run and knocked in a pair of runs as Corinth topped Salem, 8-4, in the Adirondack League. Cassidy White and Alex Jenkins both added a pair of hits for the Tomahawks, 9-4 in league play and 10-5 overall.

Pat Burton got his first varsity win, combining with Dylan O’Sick and Mike Harrington on a five-hitter as Glens Falls beat Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, 9-0, in a non-league game.

Connor Rodecker had two doubles, a single and two RBI to lead Johnstown to a 12-6 victory over Mekeel Christian Academy in another non-league game. Adam Caputo also had a solid game for the Sir Bills (10-4), getting a single, a double, two RBI and scoring three runs.

Courtney Penson led Mekeel (9-5) with a triple and two singles.
