Northampton pulls plug on ranch festival

Fundraiser benefited horse rescue farm

The owner of a Northampton horse rescue farm said Monday she will fight the town’s effort to cancel her annual fundraising festival. The town is asking the state Supreme Court in Fulton County to issue an injunction and block the “Mama Strawberry Jam” planned at the Solid Rock Ranch, according to a lawsuit filed May 1. Shouldn't Bant have been aware of and fought the town's rezoning effort if it was directed at her? But folks, this is why we have to start eliminating these town governments. They are the refuse of would-be dictators and busy-bodies. They raise the cost of living in NYS, hire their relatives for no-show jobs and spend our tax dollars like it was their own money. If you don't believe me, check out the State Comptroller's audits. Every year dozens of town and village officials are cited for everything from not following proper procedure to fraud and theft.
