Albany police seeking suspect in robbery

— Police are trying to identify a man accused in a robbery last month at a discount store.

The robbery happened April 10 at about 1:40 p.m. at the 99 Plus Discount Store, 632 Central Ave., police say.

Police were called then for trouble with a customer. The customer tried to exchange an item, when told he couldn’t, he struck the clerk and took the second item from the clerk’s hands, police said. The suspect then fled with the second item.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 25 years old, 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a white hooded sweatshirt, and flip flops. He was seen fleeing the scene in a white Nissan Altima.
