Pest company's VP elected to N.Y. board
ALBANY - Sarah Thomas-Clark, vice president of Thomas Pest Services, was recently elected to the board of directors for the New York Pest Management Association (NYPMA). She will represent pest management companies located within Region 4 of New York.
Thomas Pest Services is a local, family-owned and operated company serving northern Columbia County, the Capital Region and Adirondack Regions.
Barton & Loguidice appoints engineer
ALBANY - Barton & Loguidice, P.E. has announced that David J. Witte has joined the firm as a project engineer. He will focus on mechanical systems for water/wastewater and facilities projects.
A resident of Saratoga Springs, Witte earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, his M.A. in education (Physics) from Hunter College and his M.E. in civil engineering from Cooper Union in New York City.
NYISO appoints Hill to board
RENSSELAER - The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) has announced the selection of Daniel C. Hill to its board of directors, effective in April.
The NYISO board is a diverse body composed of members with backgrounds in the electric power industry, finance, academics, technology, communications and the law. The board is required by the NYISO's federally approved tariffs to be independent.
Hill is the former senior vice president and chief information officer of Exelon Corporation, where he managed all aspects of the company's information technology and telecommunications functions. At Exelon, Hill was engaged in developing advanced metering infrastructure and related smart grid technology. He retired from Exelon in March 2012.
Hill worked in various technology and management positions at Commonwealth Edison Company, a predecessor to Exelon, from 1983 to 2000. In 2007, he was named one of Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders.
Saratoga Hospital promotes Cross
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Ann Marie Cross, MS, RN, has been promoted to administrative director for Emergent and Urgent Care Services at Saratoga Hospital. As such, she is responsible for overseeing clinical nursing practices at the hospital's Wilton Medical Arts, Malta Medical Arts and Alfred Z. Solomon Emergency Center.
Cross also will oversee clinical nursing practice for Malta Med Emergent Care, located off Northway Exit 12, when that facility opens June 3.
Cross joined Saratoga Hospital in 2009 as director of the hospital's Alfred Z. Solomon Emergency Center. She has more than 30 years of experience in nursing management and supervision in Capital Region hospitals. Previously, she served as the director of Emergency Services for Glens Falls Hospital and administrative nursing supervisor at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Cross holds both a master of science and a bachelor of science from The Sage Colleges in Troy and a registered nursing license from Maria College in Albany.
Mohawk Ambulance supervisor honored
SCHENECTADY -- The American Ambulance Association (AAA) presented William Yamrozy, Mohawk Ambulance Service supervisor, the Star of Life award.
"Mohawk Ambulance Service is very proud and very privileged to have Will as a part of our company," said James McPartlon, vice president of Mohawk Ambulance Service.
The AAA represents organizations serving more than 75 percent of the U.S. population with emergency and nonemergency care and medical transportation services. Each year, they hold the Stars of Life event, in Washington, D.C., to publicly recognize and celebrate the achievements of its members.
Yamrozy began his career at Mohawk Ambulance Service in 1965, within six months of the company's founding. He operates the neonatal/pediatric transport unit in conjunction with specialized teams from Albany Medical Center.
3 join Fingerpaint advertising agency
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Fingerpaint , an employee-owned advertising agency, has added Cathie Wright, Will Crain and Jessica Vedder to its team.
* Wright joins Fingerpaint 's account service team from Potratz Partners, where she directed marketing initiatives for a fleet of automotive brands and dealerships. Prior to Potratz, Wright assisted with UK marketing and led generation efforts for BullEx Digital Safety. At Fingerpaint , Wright will manage a full spectrum of clients, including the agency's automotive accounts.
Wright earned a BA in government from St. Lawrence University and an MBA with a concentration in new venture development from the University at Albany.
* Crain brings a decade of visual communication expertise to Fingerpaint 's creative team. At Media Logic, Crain spearheaded media initiatives, including motion graphics/animation and Web design, for Chase, JP Morgan and fye.
Crain holds a BFA in graphic design from The College of Saint Rose.
* Vedder's career has included roles as supervisor, manager and producer at ABC, Van Hill Entertainment and Cutter, and she earned an Emmy for her work as a studio technician for ESPN's SportsCenter. Vedder rounds out Fingerpaint 's project management team and will be responsible for keeping projects on schedule and within budget.
Vedder earned a BS in television, radio and film with a minor in music industry from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, and she holds a visual communications certificate in design and technology tools from the University of Phoenix.
Roohan Realty appoints assistant
SARATOGA SPRINGS -- Roohan Realty has announced that Meredith von Schenk has joined the company as their graphic designer/marketing assistant.
Von Schenk brings with her a range of professional experience, having worked in New York City for several ad agencies and corporations in the fashion/apparel industry. She also worked for the world's largest commercial real estate services firm, CB Richard Ellis.
She holds a BFA in industrial design and marketing from Rochester Institute of Technology. She volunteers with Rebuilding Together Saratoga County and serves as an active member on the SPAC Junior Committee. Von Schenk resides in Saratoga Springs with her husband, Paul.
