— A 20-year-old Walmart employee has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing more than $43,000 in electronics equipment over the past eight months, state police said Thursday.

Kevin M. Talley of Fort Edward was arrested by state police on Wednesday after loss prevention officials from the Walmart in the town of Queensbury caught him leaving the store after his shift with slightly more than $3,400 in merchandise.

Police allege that over the past eight months Tally had accumulated more than $43,000 in merchandise taken from the store with items being mostly from the electronics department where he worked.

Police said the suspect would leave with the items without paying for them after his working shifts had ended. Some items had been sold online by Tally and some had been retuned to the store for credit.

The additional items exclusive of the day of his arrest were allegedly discovered at his home after a search by police officials.

Talley was arraigned in Queensbury Town Court on Wednesday and taken to the Warren County Jail without bail until his next court proceeding.
