Donation jar for children's hospital stolen from mall store

— Police are investigating the theft of a jar containing about $300 in donations for a children's hospital from the Hannoush Jewelers store at Crossgates Mall.

The jar was reportedly taken at about 6 p.m. Friday.

Three suspects are sought by police in connection with the alleged theft. They are:

• A black man/youth, about 15 to 20 years of age, wearing a gray hoodie with a large number 3 on the left side of the chest. He was wearing a dark-colored knit winter hat and had some facial hair.

• A black man/youth, about 15 to 20 years old, wearing a blue coat with a large black stripe down each sleeve. He was wearing a gray hoodie under the coat and a blue or black knit hat.

• A black man/youth, about 15 to 20 years old, wearing a leather San Francisco 49ers coat with a large 49ers logo on the back. The coat has red sleeves with white striping. He was also wearing a 49ers hat and Timberland-style boots.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects is asked to call police at 356-1501.
