Schenectady school locked down after student fights with staff: police

Mont Pleasant Middle School went into lockdown this morning after a student became combative with staff, according to police. The student was having some type of mental health issue, according to police spokesman Lt. Mark McCracken. Staff attempted to restrain the student and a school official experienced chest pains and received medical attention. Police arrived on scene and escorted the student to Ellis Hospital Mental health evaluation. No one else was injured in the incident.
