— City police arrested a local man on a reckless assault charge for firing a BB gun and striking an 11-year-old-girl in the eye last weekend.

Police said Jordan Marbley, 17, of Albany, was shooting the gun with friends in the rear yard of a residence when he unintentionally shot the girl in her left eye around 10:30 p.m. Saturday. The girl, who lives on the second floor of the residence, was shot as she walked out of the residence.

The girl sustained serious injuries to her left eye, including loss of sight, as a result of being shot.
