— A city man has been charged with first-degree criminal contempt, a felony, and misdemeanor counts of attempted assault and criminal mischief after police say he violated a stay away order of protection.

Norman G. Lamphear, 30, of 9 Union St., Gloversville, also shoved the victim to the ground multiple times, causing pain and discomfort, police say. He also broke the victim's laptop computer by throwing it on the ground.

Lamphear was arrested at 10:35 p.m. Sunday. He was arraigned and remanded to the Fulton County Correctional Facility.
