— A Ballston Spa man was arrested early today and charged with driving while intoxicated.

At about 1 a.m., John F. Bonds of Whippletree Road in Ballston Spa was arrested for class D felony driving while intoxicated. Bonds was driving south on State Route 9 in Lake George when a Warren County Sheriff’s Officer observed him suddenly swerve in and out of his lanes several times.

The officer pulled over the vehicle and determined that the driver, Bonds, was intoxicated after he failed several standardized field sobriety tests. Bonds was placed under arrest and returned to the Queensbury station for further processing

Bonds was asked to submit to a datamaster breath test to determine his blood alcohol content, but he refused to consent to the test. He is being held in the Warren County lockup pending arraignment in Lake George Town Court. In addition to the felony count, Bonds was charged with three other traffic violations.
