2 teen girls suffer gunshot wounds in Albany
ALBANY Two teenagers suffered gunshot wounds late Monday on First Street in Albany, a shooting police believe is part of an ongoing dispute, police said.
The two victims, both female, suffered what police described as non-life-threatening wounds. Both victims were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
The incident happened shortly before midnight Monday night. Police responded to the 200 block of First Street for a report of shots fired. No victims were immediately found.
An hour later, though, police got a report of a 17-year-old with a wound to her torso police determined she had been shot in the First Street incident.
Then, at about 2 a.m., police got a call from the 300 block of Third Street for another 17-year-old with a wound to her torso. Police also determined she was injured in the First Street incident.
The shooting, police said, appears to be the result of an ongoing dispute.
