— State police say both southbound lanes of the Thruway in the Hudson Valley were shut down for several hours late Tuesday and early this morning after two tractor-trailers collided.

Troopers say one of the trucks rear-ended the other around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in Interstate 87’s southbound lanes between exits 20 and 19 in the Ulster County town of Saugerties, 40 miles south of Albany.

Southbound traffic was diverted off the highway at Exit 20 until the left lane was reopened around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday. The right lane was reopened about four hours later.

Troopers say one of the truck drivers was taken to Albany Medical Center Hospital. There’s no information on his condition. The other driver was taken to Kingston Hospital for treatment of back pain.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
