Thompson’s outburst helps Danes subdue Minutemen

— Lyle Thompon scored five goals and assisted on three others Tuesday as University at Albany beat Massachusetts, 15-9, in a men’s non-conference lacrosse game.

John Maloney added three goals for the 2-2 Great Danes, and Blaze Riorden made 12 saves as UAlbany outshot the Minutemen, 39-35.

LANTANA, Fla. — The Golden Knights fell behind, 7-0, and came up short in a five-run ninth inning in losing to the Clippers in the Palm Beach Challenge.

Zac Bellinger had two hits and drove in two runs, and Fonda-Fultonville grad Luke Nethaway had an RBI double in the ninth for the 1-6 Golden Knights.
