ALBANY -- O.D. Anosike gave everything he had tonight.

He shed a few tears during a pre-game ceremony, and could’ve used the fluid at the end of the game, as Anosike was forced to the trainer’s room for an IV in the closing seconds and was not on the bench to see Marist spoil his Senior Night, 76-74, at the Times Union Center.

Adam Kemp dominated inside with 24 points and 14 rebounds for Marist (5-12, 9-20), which likely will see Siena (4-13, 7-22) again in the first round of the MAAC Tournament next weekend.

Anosike, who became Siena’s second-leading career rebounder in the first half, showed signs of dehydration and leg cramps with 3:18 left, making a free throw to complete a three-point play that tied the game at 68-68. He hobbled to the bench for ice after making the free throw, and didn’t get back into the game until 57.8 seconds left.

By then, Marist was up, 72-70. Devin Price (18 points) made two free throws with 20.7 seconds left, at which point Anosike came out for good.

Siena wasn’t quite done, pulling within 75-74 with 2.9 seconds left on a three by Rob Poole, but Poole’s halfcourt heave from the right sideline as time expired missed a little to the left.

Anosike finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. He was still getting an IV in the trainer’s room after the game and wasn’t available for interviews.

“The most disappointing thing is we didn’t get a win for O.D., so he could go out on a high,” head coach Mitch Buonaguro said. “But he can hold his head high. He’s had a great career.”

“I was disappointed we couldn’t get a win for him; tough loss for O.D. and for us,” said sophomore Trenity Burdine, who led Siena with 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting.
