Driver convicted after killing woman mowing lawn

FORT EDWARD A 36-year-old woman who drove her SUV off a northern New York road and ran into a woman mowing her lawn has been convicted of criminally negligent homicide.
The Post-Star reports that Deana Olsen of Queensbury was found guilty Thursday by a judge after witnesses described her using some kind of hand-held device and driving aggressively before she lost control of her Jeep Cherokee and hit 48-year-old Terry Brownell.
The accident happened on Aug. 27, 2011 in the Washington County town of Kingsbury, near the Vermont border 50 miles north of Albany.
Olsen faces a sentence of from 1 1/3 to 4 years in prison.
