Apologist for gov’t snooping should turn over passwords In response to Mr. Richard Alvarez’s June 24 letter, “As long as personal info isn’t abused, it’s OK for gov’t to snoop”): Mr. Alvarez must live in a different nation than the rest of us. Last I checked, the Fourth Amendment protects our citizens from unlawful search and seizure. No warrant, no wiretap. Mr. Alvarez draws a parallel between the mass collection of the data of innocent ...

Sean Mearns- Great letter but don't waste time trying to reason with Obama low information apologists. They are ignorant concerning fundamental rights. Partisan simpletons who see everything everything as Bush bad/Obama good. Update for Mr. Tanner the County Events person has fled to Cleveland. Schenectady can't even maintain Tuesday in the Park or Arts Nights. The lack of any public event/sports teams with this level of taxation is shocking. It's also termed amazing turn around in some circles.

There is an unused park at state street and Nott terrace that should be used. Bring more people down town. This works in Saratoga with clam chowder fest, other summer events.
We pay taxes for property that should be put to use.

Rowie Taylor, I did not know that the Young Womans "Christian" Association (YWCA) supported late term abortions or any abortions for that matter. www.liveaction.org

Real Christians support womens' rights. It's only the radical crazy ones who don't.
The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) has “always been pro-choice” ( http://cnsnews.com/news/article/ywca-sup... ).

re. "Liven up Schenectady with summer events" - um, does this writer know that there are two farmers markets every week in downtown Schenectady? Jazz on Jay every week during the summer? Other events to date: Pride Fest and Kids Art Fest. There was a weekly Art Night but there was a lack of community support and it fizzled. Support what's already going on and it can grow further.

Killing babies is not women's rights, it's infanticide.

Catherine, Perhaps more advertising and promoting of these events is in order. Post a response with all the dates, locations and hours if you know them.
I wasn't aware of much going on.

True that killing babies is infanticide, but that has nothing to do with abortion at all. Babies are humans that have been born. Infanticide is killing of babies within the first year of being born. A fetus in the womb is NOT, by definition, a baby, and it definitely has not been born. Please learn basic facts before posting.

justapto - downtown events usually attract a big crowd. I'm sorry you're out of the loop! Call the Downtown Schenectady Improvement Corporation and tell them to improve their promoting of downtown Schenectady. They can afford it: they have a $500k budget.
