— After weeks of wild weather, including tornados and flooding, extreme heat in the Capital Region is no surprise, but not necessarily welcomed.

According to the National Weather Service Albany, the heat wave is over as of today. But with temperatures still in the middle to upper 80s Wednesday, it may not feel like it.

On Monday, temperatures reached a high of 92 degrees in the Capital Region and on Tuesday, temperatures hit close to 91 degrees.

Compared to recent years, the temperatures over the last three days have been a good 10 degrees above normal, according to the National Weather Service.

Despite the high temperatures, no records were broken. On Monday and today, temperatures were about 5 degrees shy of the records.

For those looking for a break from the heat, Thursday and into the weekend will not be as hot with temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.
