Motorcyclist hurt in Wilton crash
WILTON A motorcyclist was seriously injured Friday afternoon when a woman driving a sedan failed to yield in a Wilton intersection.
Michel A. Mclaughlin, 54, of Granville, had been driving north on Route 9 when he tried to make a left turn onto Ernst Road. As he did, Doris M. Wilder, 77, of Gansevoort, struck him with her Volkswagon Jetta, according to Saratoga County sheriff’s deputies.
Mclaughlin was thrown from his bike, sustaining serious injuries, deputies said. He was flown by helicopter to Albany Medical Center, but hospital officials did not return a call Saturday about his condition.
The Sheriff’s Office’s Accident Investigations Unit reconstructed the crash and determined Wilder failed to yield the right of way. She was ticketed and will appear in Wilton Town Court at a later date.
