HCA names Larman to board of directors
ALBANY — The Home Care Association of New York State (HCA) has named Sue Larman to its board of directors at its annual conference board meeting.
Larman is CEO of Visiting Nurses Association of Albany and its affiliates, which include the VNA of Albany, Saratoga and Rensselaer; Visiting Nurses Home Care; and the Visiting Nurses Foundation.
She has been with VNA since October 2010 and brings 30 years of extensive home care and executive leadership experience to the HCA board.
The HCA board of directors oversees HCA’s policy, programmatic, advocacy, fiscal and education activities in consultation with the HCA staff.
Marketing agency wins five awards
ALBANY — Eric Mower + Associates, a marketing communications agency, has won five B2 Awards from the Business Marketing Association (BMA) national awards competition.
The B2 Awards recognize innovation and excellence from top agencies and corporate marketers. Nearly 1,000 entries were submitted in 27 categories and judged by more than 60 senior corporate marketers and leading agency executives.
For the second straight year, the Domtar PAPERBecause campaign took best of category in the print advertising division. The print ads support the messages conveyed in Domtar’s Really, Really Short Films, which emphasize that paper is still an important communications tool that can be produced and used in an environmentally responsible manner.
EMA’s other awards include: internal branding video (award of excellence); digital advertising video campaign (award of excellence); multi-channel lead generation (award of excellence); and promotional marketing (award of excellence).
Walsh joins Albany Realty Group
ALBANY — Jessica Walsh has joined Albany Realty Group as a licensed real estate salesperson. She specializes in the listing and selling of both residential and commercial real estate in the immediate Capital Region and throughout Greene County.
She is a member of Greater Capital Association of Realtors (GCAR), National Association of Realtors, New York State Association of Realtors and Capital Region Multiple Listing Service.
Previously, Walsh was a sales representative with Verizon Wireless. She also has experience in the hospitality industry and spent many years working for several family-owned farm and retail businesses in the Capital Region and New York City. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in communication from Villanova University.
Walsh resides in Slingerlands.
Law firm taps Wickens for post
ALBANY — Whiteman Osterman & Hanna, a Capital Region law firm, has named Lisa M. Wickens, R.N., as vice president of WOH Government Solutions LLC, its Albany- and Washington, D.C.-based subsidiary.
Wickens joins WOH Government Solutions after 26 years in public- and private-sector health care service delivery.
Prior to joining WOH Government Solutions, Wickens served for eight years as deputy director of the Office of Health Systems Management, the policy, regulatory, surveillance and enforcement arm of the state Department of Health.
She also served as chair of the Department of Health’s Surveillance Steering Committee, chair of the Assisted Living Task Force and principal investigator on the Department’s Health Resources and Services Administration (“HRSA”) health care preparedness grants.
Price Chopper program honored
SCHENECTADY — Price Chopper was recently awarded the inaugural Gold Plate Award (50-199 stores division) at the Food Marketing Institute (FMI) Health and Wellness/Global Market Development Center (GMDC) dinner in San Antonio, Texas. The award was in recognition of Price Chopper’s “Family Mealtimes Matter,” an outreach campaign that focuses on bringing families together for mealtime.
“Family Mealtimes Matter,” a collaborative initiative of Price Chopper and statewide health and nutrition partners, including Cornell Cooperative Extension and Eat Smart New York, takes place every fall throughout New York state. Registered dietitians and nutrition educators host programs and store tours that inspire customers to use fun and easy methods to increase the number of family mealtimes.
