Saratoga Springs man accused of identity theft

A Saratoga Springs man is accused of stealing a woman’s identity to create online accounts and use her tax return. Matthew J. Raia, 24, is accused of fraudulent activity worth almost $6,000, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department. He was charged with first-degree identity theft, a class D felony, and fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony. Investigators said Raia cooperated with the investigation.
