Early morning fire destroys Scotia home

Fire broke out in a single-family home in Scotia early Tuesday morning, leaving one man homeless. Fire crews were called to 317 Mohawk Ave. at approximately 5:50 a.m. When they arrived, the fire was burning heavily and already coming out of the first- and second-floor windows, according to Scotia Fire Chief Charles Keller. Approximately 50 firefighters responded to the blaze, including members of the Scotia, Beukendaal and Schenectady fire departments and the Air National Guard. ...
