Schools are like second homes to many kids, and when they’re suddenly told they have to change their routine and go elsewhere, it makes them uncomfortable. Ditto their parents. Resisting change, after all, is human nature — at least for some people. And why mess with success, or something that, at the very least, is convenient? Huh? This district desperately needs a uniform K-8 policy. The problem is in the middle schools and overcrowded SHS. Go to all neighborhood K-8 schools, slash busing, walk to school and pull the Ninth Grade out of the overcrowded High School.

I'm with Gina, K-6, 7-9, 9-12. We have way to many kids going to a high school that is overcrowded, underfunded and not too many are actually getting a good education.
