Friday storms cut power to 18,000 National Grid customers

About 18,000 National Grid customers in eastern New York lost power as a result of Friday evening’s storms. Crews worked throughout the night responding to downed wires, assessing damage and restored power to a vast majority of impacted customers, according to a news release from the utility.
