United Airlines plans to lay off 42 at Albany airport

United Airlines has given notice that it will lay off 40 people at Greater Rochester International Airport in October and 42 more at the Albany airport. The Chicago-based carrier outlined the plans in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the state labor department. The notice indicates United is considering switching to an outside vendor for customer service and ramp operations.
