Residents near the Carrie Street Park are under siege. For years, they have been regularly attacked by children who have broken every window in one house, twice destroyed a private pool and are now stripping a shed of its shingles, which they are using as weapons to throw at other houses. Desperate residents said they have repeatedly called police in recent years, but that officers often arrived far too late to catch the miscreants. But ...

Where are the parents of these kids? When is enough, enough! These are kids whose parents don't give a rats butt about what they do, but take matters into your own hands to protect what you've earned and the city will be on you like white on rice! They need a good old fashion spanking. when I was a kid if you did something like that you got a spanking from the person who owned the property. If you went home and told your mom you got another spanking. Kids like this have no respect, mostly because there parents have no respect for themselves or others. This is what drives good people to do bad things. If the city won't fix it, sue there dumb a#!&s. Lord knows you have tried everything else!

Most of the things I could suggest would end up with a lot of faces on milk cartons.

put barb wire on the shed, take the shed down, put up a fence high enough between the shed and your yard. if nobody will answer your call for help, they can not tell you how to help yourself. got a paintball gun?

Where are the socialist liberals who say 'the city is doing fine' and let kids be kids.
Higher and higher taxes and free rent, food stamps, cell phones and monthly checks for these people who don't work or take care of the 10 kids we pay for!
No wonder houses are vacant in Schenectady.

Find out the kids names, then track down the parents, then make the parents pay for the damages.. Take them to court. Intalling a camera and recording the activity will help identify the kids and what they are doing. Id consider suing the city of Schenectady for not doing anything about it - negligence! There is no excuse for this bad behavior, except bad parents and bad kids with nothing better to do in the summer. It pathetic.

The parents of these children are probably helping/encouraging them to vandalize property. Children learn from their parents. These are monster children, with monster parents. Who cares if they get hurt on barbed wire? Why do responsible, tax-paying citizens have to suffer at the hands of these animals? When you're living near these hooligans every day is a battle. It's not right.
