Amateur baseball: Sohl throws three-hitter to spark Diamond Kings' win

ALBANY — C.J. Sohl threw a three-hitter and struck out seven as the Capital City Diamond Kings beat the Troy Haymakers, 13-0, Friday in an Albany Twilight League game at Bleecker Stadium.

Brett Crawford homered and drive in four runs, Bill Creighton had three singles and three RBI, and Mike Doherty also had three singles for 4-10 Capital City.

Jason Owens had two of the Haymakers’ hits.

SUMPLE GETS SHUTOUT

WATERFORD — Kyle Sumple tossed a three-hitter, and Kevin Quaranto doubled in two runs to give Nolan Propane a 3-0 win over the Albany Senators in an Albany Twilight League game played at Kelts Stadium.

Pat Reardon singled in a run in the first inning, and Quaranto got his RBI hit in the sixth. Joey Moore allowed only five hits for the Sen­ators.

DANBURY, Conn. — Zach Looney and Brian O’Keefe drove in runs in the fifth inning, and Cameron Tekker came on to get the final three outs, as the Saratoga Brigade beat the Danbury Westerners, 2-0, in a Northeast Collegiate Baseball League game.

The Indians, now 22-4, host the Monsters on the Mohawk tourn­ament today at their Collins Park field and the Scotia Babe Ruth field.

ROTTERDAM — Will Kindl stroked an inside-the-park grand slam and two singles, driving in eight runs, as Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake crushed Scotia-Glenville, 28-9, in the District 12 9-10-year-old all-star tournament at Carman Little League.

Nate DeLuke chipped in with a double, two singles and six RBI for Burnt Hills, which banged out 15 hits, and Dillon Aldrich had a double and a single.

Glavine Van Matten had a double and drove in three runs for Scotia.

Evan Kelly hit a double, and Tyler Hotaling, Austin Dodson and Joe DiChristopher all hit two singles as Cobleskill shut out Gloversville.
