Saratoga County deputies help rescue two potential drowning victims

— The Saratoga County Sheriff Department responded to the scene of two possible drownings in less than an hour this afternoon.

At 2:55 p.m., a 6-year-old child was reported drowning on Coriander Drive in Moreau. Deputies and family members attempted to resuscitate the child. The child, who was conscious and semi-responsive by that point, was taken to Glens Falls Hospital and later Albany Medical Center for treatment.

At 3:28 p.m., a man was reported drowning in the Great Sacandaga Lake near South Shore Road in the town of Edinburg. The Sheriff’s Department Marine Patrol and Edinburg Fire Department rescued the man, who had become exhausted while swimming. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam for treatment.
