Annual Saratoga garden tour a “secret” in name only
SARATOGA SPRINGS Capital Region residents have the opportunity to tour the secret gardens of Saratoga Springs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
This is the 19th year Soroptimist International of Saratoga County will be hosting the self-guided Saratoga Secret Gardens Tour. This year, 11 gardens are featured.
Soroptimist International of Saratoga County is a volunteer organization founded in 1979 and is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas. The name Soroptimist means “best for women,” and the organization looks to help improve the lives of women and girls. They go by the motto “Women at their best who help women to be their best.”
This year’s Secret Garden Tour will further the Soroptimist mission by benefiting Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Services of Saratoga County.
Tickets can be ordered online at www.soroptimistsaratoga.org or purchased at the Saratoga Springs Visitor Center. Tickets are $18 in advance or, if still available, may be purchased for $22 on the day of the tour.
The tickets include descriptions of the various gardens and directions. Visitors can also enter for a chance to win raffle items including garden-themed gift baskets, gift certificates, garden accessories and a seven-day summer vacation at the Wyndham Bentley Brook resort at Jiminy Peak.
Parking is available park in the Lincoln Bathhouse parking lot.
