1 to 2 inches of snow expected today

The region may see 1 to 2 inches of snow today and the precipitation could eventually change over to sleet, according to the National Weather Service.

Today's high will be near 29.

Tonight, freezing drizzle and sleet is forecast, becoming all freezing drizzle after 9 p.m. The low will be around 27.

On Tuesday there is a slight chance of freezing drizzle before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain. It will be cloudy, with a high near 39. There is a chance of showers Tuesday night. It will be cloudy, with a low around 35.

Temperatures will rise on Wednesday with a high near 54 and rain likely throughout the day and night.
