Two buildings involved in Mechanicville blaze

— Two buildings were heavily damaged Friday by a three-alarm fire on South Third Street in Mechanicville.

The fire started just after 5 p.m. in a two-story house at 249 S. Third St. and spread to the adjacent structure. No injuries were reported in the blaze, which took about two hours to bring under control.

Among the fire companies that responded to the scene were Mechanicville, Halfmoon, Hillcrest, Melrose, Hemstreet Park, Waterford, Clifton Park, Arvin Hart, Round Lake and Jonesville.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
