— Troy police arrested a man on a petty larceny charge Tuesday and say he is the main suspect in a string of vehicle break-ins in the Lansingburgh section of the city.

Police say Hiram Morales, 30, of 656 2nd Ave., was approached in an alley in the 113th Street and 114th Street area and was found to have a set of stolen headphones in his possession.

He was charged with petty larceny and arraigned in Troy Police Court.

Morales admitted to police that he has recently taken items from vehicles that were left in plain sight. The investigation is continuing.

Anyone who has had a credit or debit card stolen from a vehicle in Lansingburgh or knows someone who has is asked to call the Troy police tip line at 279-7911.
