— A Stillwater man faces a felony assault charge after he allegedly hit a man with a beer bottle.

Garth J. Russom, 24, was charged Tuesday with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor.

Stillwater police responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in Saratoga Hills Trailer Park. Arriving officers found a 28-year-old man lying on the floor of a residence and bleeding from a serious laceration to the neck that was caused by a broken beer bottle.

He was transported to a local hospital. The defendant was located walking on County Route 76 and was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Russom was arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and held in Saratoga County Jail with $20,000 bail bond. He was also served an order of protection barring all contact with the victim.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
