Brawl at Amsterdam Walmart results in 5 arrests
AMSTERDAM Five Amsterdam residents were arrested Wednesday after brawling in the Route 30 Walmart.
Montgomery County Sheriff's Deputies and Amsterdam Police were called in by store personnel saying customers were fighting in the frozen food aisle.
While waiting for law enforcement to arrive, employees noticed one of the women involved in the fight had a baby with her. At one point a large bottle nearly struck the 10-month-old child. Eventually one employee took action, removing the baby from the area.
On the scene police arrested John, 32, Tammy, 37, and Brittany Bottomley, 16, all of 58 Arnold Ave., Amsterdam, along with Brianna Riley, 18, and Demontavius Collins, 21, both of 13 Trinity Place, Amsterdam.
All were charged with endangering the welfare of a child, fourth degree criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, given tickets and released.
The cause of the fight was not immediately clear.
