— A Washington County man was jailed on a felony charge following a fatal head-on collision on Route 67 Sunday evening that killed an Amsterdam man.

Marcus R. Young, 24, of Granville, was arrested on charges of second-degree vehicular manslaughter, a Class D felony, and driving with ability impaired by drugs, state police said. He was also ticketed for various vehicle and traffic infractions, they said.

Police said the crash occurred about 4:55 p.m. Sunday. A vehicle operated by Young was traveling westbound on Route 67 and crossed the center of the roadway into the eastbound lane.

Young's vehicle collided head-on with a vehicle driven by Glenn L. Smith, 50, of Amsterdam, who was killed.

Smith was transported to Saratoga Hospital by the Galway Ambulance, and was pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

Young was arraigned in Charlton town court and sent to the Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bail bond, police said.
