Pair of scuffles leads to charges for Saratoga Springs man
SARATOGA SPRINGS A 53-year-old Saratoga Springs man is facing a number of charges after a domestic incident this week at an apartment on Railroad Place and a scuffle at City Hall on Wednesday.
James L. Flacke of Railroad Place was charged with third-degree assault and criminal mischief for allegedly punching Dennis Ward in the face with a closed fist, breaking his glasses and ripping his pants Tuesday at an apartment on Railroad Place, police said.
Police say Flacke also left profane and threatening phone messages to two different city police officers this week, and they charged him with aggravated harassment on these allegations.
Late Wednesday afternoon, Flacke allegedly refused to leave the second floor of City Hall (where the court is located) and fought with police officers when they attempted to take him into custody. He was charged with resisting arrest as well as trespass because the second floor of City Hall was closed to the public at the time.
Police said Flacke will undergo psychological testing through the court system. He was taken to the Saratoga County Jail for lack of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond to reappear in City Court today.
