Clifton Park woman charged with vehicular manslaughter
CHARLTON A 39-year-old Clifton Park woman was arrested today on an additional charge of vehicular manslaughter stemming from a Nov. 30 accident in Charlton that eventually claimed the life of a Milton man.
Traci L. Briskin of Clifton Park Center Road was charged with second-degree vehicular manslaughter by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office after the death of Thomas R. Baker, 49, of Paisley Road in Milton, who died of injuries he received in the Nov. 30 accident at the corner of Route 67 and Jockey Street.
Baker was airlifted to Albany Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries after the accident and succumbed to those injuries on Dec. 23, 2012, police said.
Briskin was originally charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to stop at a stop sign at Jockey Street and Route 67, as well as vehicular assault. She was arraigned Wednesday on the vehicular manslaughter charge in Charlton Town Court and released on $20,000 bail bond. She is scheduled to return to town court Feb. 7.
