Boland leads Lady Plainsmen to win

Freshman Carly Boland scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds Tuesday as Shenendehowa defeated Mohonasen, 39-27, in a Suburban Council game.

Alyssia Marsal added six points, 11 rebounds and six steals for the Lady Plainsmen, who got senior guard Kristen Connors back from injury.

Kelsey Cowell led Mohonasen with 12 points.

Shaker and Bethlehem remained unbeaten and atop their respective divisions.

Shaker got 19 points from Mad-ison Rowland in a 66-41 win over Columbia. Jenny Barra added 13 points for Shaker.

Gabby Giacone scored 21 points, and Bridget Murphy added 14 as Bethlehem topped Saratoga Springs, 74-43.

Rachel Signor led the Lady Streaks with 10 points.

Nicole Riddick’s 15 points led Colonie past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake, 56-26. Jaclyn Welch added 10 points for the Lady Raiders. Molly Gallagher’s 12 points was best for the Lady Spartans.

Alison Nunziato hit four three-pointers in scoring 16 points as Averill Park downed Niskayuna, 61-20. Samantha Atcheson had eight points for Niskayuna.

Caitlin Corbett finished with 18 points as Guilderland stopped Ballston Spa, 35-33, thanks to a 24-10 lead at the half. Paige Gallo and Sydney Hanen combined for 21 for the Lady Scotties.

Cara Waterson scored 23 points and Mylah Chandler added 20 as Albany — playing without injured reigning Big 10 Player of the Year Emia Willingham-Hurst — bested Troy, 65-47, to assume sole possession of first place in the Big 10.

Williingham-Hurst, the league’s top scorer, sat out Sunday’s one-point loss to South Shore with a ankle injury as the Lady Falcons competed in a tournament in New Jersey over the weekend.

Waterson, a senior, and Chandler, a 10th-grader, more than picked up the slack as the Lady Falcons moved to 6-0 in the league and 11-1 overall. Waterson nailed five of nine three-point attempts, and Chandler took down 14 rebounds.

Albany opened a 10-point lead after one quarter, but Troy got to within 44-41 after three. Albany outscored Troy, 21-7, over the final quarter.

Kianna Patterson scored 13 points, and Mary Patetrson added 10 more for Troy.

Sophomore Madison Purcell had a season-high 28 points as Catholic Central eased past Bishop Maginn, 76-46. Alliyah Gillespie (17 points) and Regan McFerran (11) were in double figures for the 5-3, 7-3 Lady Crusaders.

Shiann Coons and Caitlin Hupe had a combined 29 points for the 3-3, 6-4 Lady Griffins.

Latifa Woods-Walker scored 11 points as Amsterdam beat Schen-ectady, 41-21. Alexus Durham and Jazze Lewis combined for 13 points for Schenectady.

Shadasia Alton scored 19 points, and Nera Brajac and Abby Fitzgerald teamed for 24 more as Cohoes knocked off Schalmont, 56-47, in the Colonial Council.

Freshman Rachel Strijek led the Lady Sabres with 12 points.

Ailayia Demand’s 20 points helped Watervliet best Lansingburgh, 60-27. Mikayla DeGuire added 13 points for the 8-1 Lady Cannoneers. Tabia Gamble scored 14 for Lansingburgh.

Aubrie Zecca nailed four three-pointers and scored a game-high 18 points as Mechanicville defeated Albany Academy, 50-31. Emily Padalino’s 10 points led Academy.

Hannah Friend scored 17 points, and Mary Kate Murray added 15, leading Holy Names past Voorheesville, 62-27.

Kayla Hotaling scored 23 points, and Hope Rebeor added 18, helping Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk beat Fonda-Fultonville, 66-52. Emily Parslow led Fonda with 21 points.

Danielle Ooms scored 21 points to get Ichabod Crane past Cobleskill-Richmondville, 43-31. Danielle Kiser led the Lady Bulldogs with 21 points.

Cassidy Chapko’s 21 points got league-leading Hoosic Valley past Cambridge, 54-18, in the Wasaren League.

Frankie Pearson scored 23 points as Hoosick Falls topped Stillwater, 52-36; and Tamarac bested Schuylerville, 63-33, as Jenna Erickson and Briana Matazinsky teamed for 38 points.

Lindsay Mannion scored 17 points, as Maple Hill came from behind to beat Greenville, 48-43, to extend its Patroon Conference winning streak to 105 games.

Cassiday Allen had 18 points as Loudonville Christian School beat Hawthorne Valley, 46-17, in the Central Hudson Valley League.
