None of this will be effective, it is the government using tragedy to take away the peoples rights. The fact the gun grabbers laws have been written and worked on for years past and only now thrown at us proves this. Guns are already so hard to get Lanza had to kill his own mother to get his hands on them. Also the investigation is not even done yet so how can we try to legislate our way to stopping madmen in the future?

These measures may merit passage, but they are not "gun control" legislation. They are punishment bills--increasing the punishment for those caught violating the laws. They will do little or nothing to prevent illegal gun usage.

As usual, the law abiding citizen will obey the new laws, and the criminals will ignore them. So,what has changed? The solution is to get the dirtbags off the streets so that the rest of us can venture out of our homes in safety. Of course, then someone will complain that such a proceedure would unfairly target one specific segment of our population. And they would be correct...we would be targeting the criminals. What a revolutionary idea.
