Man accused of inappropriate contact with woman at senior residence
COLONIE An Albany man has been arrested after he allegedly inappropriately touched a woman at a residence for seniors.
Richard P. Ragone, 64, of 29 Maryland Ave., was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a vulnerable elderly person, a felony, and third-degree sexual abuse, a misdemeanor. Ragone is a registered Level 3 sex offender.
On Dec. 3, Colonie police were notified by a representative from the Loudonville Home for Adults on Albany-Shaker Road that a maintenance worker was observed to have inappropriately touched a 91-year-old female resident on Nov. 30. The investigation revealed Ragone had placed his hands down the shirt of the victim and rubbed her breasts without her consent, police said.
Ragone, who has been working at the home since 2008, was arraigned in the Town of Colonie Justice Court on Dec. 20 and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
This case is still being investigated to determine if there are any other alleged victims of the defendant. Anyone who has information about Ragone is urged to contact Colonie police investigators at 783-2754.
