WNYT parent company to buy WNYA
ALBANY — WNYT-TV NewsChannel 13 is planning to buy WNYA-TV.
WNYT-TV owner Hubbard Broadcasting Inc. of St. Paul, Minn., has entered into an agreement with Venture Technologies Group LLC to acquire the broadcast assets of WNYA-TV, which is a My Network affiliate, according to a news release.
“We are pleased to be adding WNYA’s programming to the services we currently provide in New York state’s Capital Region,” said Steve Baboulis, vice president and general manager for WNYT, in the release. “We will work hard to enhance the good work WNYA has done in our market, and we look forward to this exciting opportunity.”
As part of this transaction, Venture Technologies and WNYT-TV also have entered into a joint sales agreement under which WNYT will provide sales services for WNYA.
The agreement is subject to approval by the Federal Communications Commission, which is anticipated to take up the matter later this year.
