Man sought in Rotterdam bank robbery
ROTTERDAM Rotterdam police are searching for the suspect in a robbery that occurred Friday evening at Pioneer Savings Bank.
The robbery occurred about 6:55 p.m. at the bank branch at 1828 Altamont Ave., between Elizabeth and Ferguson streets. Police describe the suspect as a thin man between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10, according to a news release issued Friday night. He was wearing all black clothing — pants, coat, hat, ski mask and gloves.
The suspect didn’t display a weapon and took an undetermined amount of cash, police said. He fled the bank on foot and was last seen running through the parking lot toward Ferguson Street. Schenectady police and canine officers assisted with the investigation.
Rotterdam police are asking that anyone who was in the area and may have seen the individual, or who has any other information that may be helpful, to call their Detective Division at 355-7397.
