Schenectady man sentenced on weapons charge
ALBANY A Schenectady man received 21⁄2 years in state prison for possessing a stolen gun, the Albany County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.
Marvin Sanchez, 27, was sentenced Tuesday morning before Judge Joseph Teresi in Albany County Court, and received an additional three years of post release supervision.
Guilderland police found two loaded .380-caliber semi-automatic pistols in the trunk of Sanchez’s car last April after he had been pulled over on Carman Road and gave consent for a police search of his vehicle. One of the firearms had been reported stolen in Webster a 11⁄2 years earlier.
Sanchez pleaded guilty in December to one count of attempted criminal possession of a weapon, a class D felony.
