Winter weather advisory: Freezing rain could make driving hazardous

A winter weather advisory is in effect for the Capital Region until noon today as freezing rain, snow and sleet are expected to make for hazardous driving conditions.

The freezing rain should change over to rain before noon, according to the National Weather Service.

Ice accumulations of up to a tenth of an inch are possible. Extremely slippery roads and isolated power outages could result. Temperatures in the 20s will rise into the mid 30s and lower 40s.
