Gov. Cuomo to attend tourism event in Tug Hill area today
LOWVILLE — Gov. Andrew Cuomo is heading to a popular snowmobiling spot in New York's North Country for a winter tourism event.
The governor is scheduled to appear at noon today for an event at the Ridgeview in the Lewis County town of Lowville, 60 miles northeast of Syracuse.
Lewis County contains part of the Tug Hill Plateau, a section of the North Country that's popular with snowmobilers from across New York and other nearby states. The Tug Hill typically is New York's snowiest area each winter and its snowmobile trails are a major part of the local economy.
Cuomo's office hasn't released any details of his announcement yet.
