High school wrestling: Schalmont, Shenendehowa, Colonie wrestlers champs

Schalmont had three champ-ions from six finalists Saturday in winning the team title at the Framingham (Mass.) Holiday Tournament.

State runner-up Nick Gallo (182 pounds), Paul Lambert (120) and Tim Flower (195) — all No. 1 seeds — wrestled to titles, with J.T. Heller (152), Kevin Paskevich (170) and Marcus Ramundo (286) also reaching the finals.

Alex Lambert was third at 106, and Cameron Brooks placed fourth at 160 for the Sabres, who finished with 200.5 points, 19.5 clear of the host team.

Gallo, Paul Lambert and Flower all finished 4-0. Gallo had three first-period pins and finished with a 10-2 win over Connor Humphries of East Longmeadow.

Paul Lambert also pinned twice in three bouts to get to the finals, where he pinned another East Longmeadow wrestler, Jake Podmore.

Flower had three first-period pins to get to his final, where he beat third-seeded Jake O’Brien of Framingham, 6-2.

Ashley leads Shen

State runner-up Levi Ashley beat 2013 state tourney top seed Reggie Williams of Johnson City, 10-5, in the 195-pound final to earn MOW honors and help Shenendehowa win the team title at the Teike-Bernabi Tournament at Spencerport.

Kevin Parker (138) and Jesse Porter (152) also won titles for the Plainsmen, with Jordan Maynard (126) second, Deitrich Hartman (106), Anthony Dinallo (145), Kevin Leonard (220) and Jordan Gougler (285) all third.

Colonie wins Windsor

Wayen Burt (195) and Austin DiCerbo (285) won their weight classes to help Colonie win the team title at the Windsor Tournament.

Burt pinned his way into the final from the No. 1 seed, and wrapped up his two days with a 3-1 victory over Ward Hively of Section III’s Adirondack.

DiCerbo, also a top seed, likewise blasted his way into the finals, where he stuck Dan Babcok of Deposit-Hancock in 3:17.

State place finisher Golen Cohen lost in the 113 finals, dropping a 3-2 decision to second seed John Arceri of Section XI’s Huntington.

Isaiah Cooks was third at 182, Enrique Lopez took fourth at 99, and Brandon Brothers finished fifth at 170.

Saratoga’s Dominic Inzana won the 120 title from the second seed with three falls and a 9-4 win over fourth seed Mikey Carr of Union-Endicott in the final.

Richard Schrade finished fourth at 106, and Matt Holton was fifth at 220.

Cadets are fourth at Akron

Zeke Thomas (145) and Cam Milliken (152) were individual champ-ions to help Albany Academy place fourth at the Akron Tournament.

Thomas pinned Adam Krause of North Tonawanda 3:15 into his final, and Milliken also won by fall, pinning John Simonian of West Seneca West in 3:40.

Kyle Jasenski was second at 120, Sam Delarge placed third at 138, and Zeke Zebrowski took fourth at 132.

Eagles sweep duals

Duanesburg went 5-0 to win the Schenectady County Duals, hosted by Niskayuna.

The Eagles beat Scotia-Glenville (78-9), the host Silver Warriors (62-24), Warrensburg (41-33), Mohonasen (50-36) and Schenectady (66-23), Warrensburg was second at 4-1 and Mohonasen was 3-2 to pace third.
