Gretzinger leaving CBS 6 for nano job
ALBANY A veteran television news broadcaster has signed on with the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering as a top communications official, the college said Thursday.
Jerry Gretzinger was named college vice president of strategic communications and public relations. He is to oversee the college’s communications, media and marketing efforts “to support the statewide growth and international recognition” of the college.
Gretzinger, 41, most recently worked at WRGB in Niskayuna, beginning as a reporter and later becoming an anchor.
Gretzinger called the new opportunity humbling.
“I have been a television news anchor and reporter in New York’s Capital Region for 11 years and it has been an honor to serve the community in that capacity,” he said in a news release. “I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity to tell the story of New York’s unparalleled high-tech revolution, which features chapters that have yet to be written.”
