Teen accused of making threat against Saratoga BOCES facility
SARATOGA SPRINGS A teenager was ordered to appear in Saratoga County Family Court after police said he made a “terroristic threat” toward faculty and staff at the F. Donald Myers Education Center.
Saratoga Springs police responded to the campus at 15 Henning Road about 12:15 p.m. Tuesday after a report that a 15-year-old male student had made threatening comments, according to a news release from police. When police arrived, they worked with staff at the school, one of several area Career and Technical Education campuses run by Washington-Saratoga-Warren-Hamilton-Essex BOCES, and determined there was no imminent threat to the school or its occupants.
The boy, whose name was not released because of his age, was suspended and removed from the school. Further investigation into the incident ended with him being referred to Family Court for “making a terroristic threat,” which would be classified as a “D” felony if committed by an adult.
The Saratoga County Attorney’s Office will handle the case.
