Boys' basketball: Streaks turn back Blue Devils in OT

Noah Arciero scored seven of his career-high 35 points in overtime to help Saratoga Springs hold off Columbia, 79-75, in a Suburban Council game Thursday night.

Chris Byno had 16 points for the Blue Streaks (2-2, 4-2), and Jesse Alexander scored 12.

Jahlil Nails and Steven Hart delivered six points apiece in the fourth quarter when Columbia (3-2, 3-2) rallied from a 54-46 deficit to knot the contest, 69-69.

Nails topped the Blue Devils with 21 points, Elijah Lott scored 17 and Hart finished with 14.

Vince Simeone fired in 18 points, and Andrew Platek scored 17 to lift Guilderland over Shaker, 67-50, in a matchup of unbeaten Suburban Council teams.

Billy Floyd scored a season-high 12 points for the Dutchmen (4-0, 5-0), and Matt Cerutti added 10. Andrew Holmes paced Shaker (3-1, 3-1) with 16 points, and Malik Dare had 10.

Jeremy Mendrick poured in a career-high 29 points, 13 coming in a 23-7 third-quarter run, and Ballston Spa defeated Bethlehem, 75-56.

Andre Edgerton scored 13 points, and Sean Walsh and Andrew Gentile had 12 apiece for the Scotties. Gentile had nine in a put-away fourth quarter. John Sica and Connor Morelli scored 19 points each for the Eagles.

Jake Hicks scored 20 points, Kevin Huerter delivered 18 and Brandon Fischer had 14 as Shenendehowa (4-0, 4-1) defeated Colonie, 73-54.

The Plainsmen were 22-for-27 from the line, with Hicks and Huerter going a combined 13-for-13. Nolan Smith scored 18 points for Colonie.

Zac O’Dell piled up 19 points, and Schalmont rallied in the second half to beat Lansingburgh, 59-55, for its second straight Colonial Council win.

Lucas Curtin scored 14 points for the Sabres (2-1, 2-3), and Trevon Perez-Tucker had 11. Darnell Sutton sparked the winless Knights with 24 points, and Dante Carr collected 17.

Mike Cannizzo scored 15 points, and Mechanicville threw a defensive blanket over Cobleskill-Richmondville in the first and third quarters en route to a 59-36 triumph.

Nico Dumas scored nine points for the Red Raiders (3-1, 4-1). Brian Koeberle led the Bulldogs with 12.

Brandon LaForest clicked for 27 points, and Cohoes took charge with a 23-12 second-quarter run on the way to beating Fonda-Fultonville, 75-48.

Shelton Austin scored 12 points for the Tigers (3-0, 4-1), and A.J. Cioffi had 10. Cam Ives scored 13 for the Braves.

Noah Crawford came through with 21 points, and Dylan Hensel scored 14 to propel Voorheesville past Ichabod Crane, 65-45.

Seth Scarano scored 25 points for the Riders.

Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk doubled up Watervliet in overtime and beat the Cannoneers, 73-67.

Four Indians reached double figures, led by Mike Babcock with 21 points and David Warnken with 19. Ty’Jon Gilmore went 10-for-14 from the line and hit a trio of threes in leading Watervliet with 27. Austin Riska scored 22 points, Jamel Vazquez put in 17 and Johns­town surged in the second half to forge a 59-50 Foothills Council win at South Glens Falls.

Connor Brown scored 23 points, and Schoharie went to 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference South Division with a 65-53 win over Middleburgh Wednesday night.

James Sacket scored 17 points for the Indians, who had lost to the Knights by two at the Cutspec Memorial Tournament earlier in the season. Ryan Bechtold scored 14 for Middleburgh.
