City, Schenectady County reach property tax collection deal

The county and the city have come to an agreement on the millions of dollars in unpaid property taxes owed to the county. The city will pay the county for all delinquent taxes from 2012 and 2013. With the record foreclosures if the City had to continue to pay the County it would already be bankrupt. Another indicator of how things are really going with current leadership that "understands the importance of high taxes".
